Shortly after scammers targeted Donald Trump’s World Liberty Financial platform, hackers have reportedly gained unauthorized access to the social media accounts of Lara Trump, his daughter-in-law, and Tiffany Trump, his daughter.
On the night of September 3rd, these compromised accounts were utilized to endorse a token falsely associated with World Liberty Financial, an upcoming cryptocurrency venture that has recently been promoted by members of the Trump family.
Trump’s Inner Circle in the Crosshairs of Scammers?
A journalist named Chase raised the alarm on X (formerly Twitter), cautioning users by stating,
“Avoid engaging with this Solana Meme Coin. Both Eric Trump and Don Trump have explicitly stated that no meme coins would be launched.”
This serves as a reminder to disregard any such assertions, especially those originating from these compromised accounts, and to refrain from interacting with them.
As an added layer of authenticity, the journalist also shared a screenshot of the now-deleted posts published through these compromised accounts.
Unsurprisingly, users were advised to steer clear of any links shared by these compromised accounts until the security breach was completely resolved.
Furthermore, the hacking incident was notified in a message sent to the official Telegram group of Trump’s new decentralized finance (DeFi) initiative, World Liberty Financial.
Eric Trump Enters the Discussion
In further affirmation of the situation, Eric Trump, in a since-deleted post, verified that his wife Lara’s social media account had indeed been hacked.
He emphasized that despite the seeming authenticity of the messages from her account, they were actually concocted by scammers.
Following prompt action by X to address this fraudulent activity, Eric Trump also acknowledged on X that,
“@twitter acted swiftly and quickly locked down the @LaraLeaTrump and @TiffanyATrump accounts.”
Diverse Community Reactions Emerge
Amidst the situation, there was a divide in the community, with some casting doubts on Trump and asserting that ‘anything associated with the Trumps is dubious’,
Despite the setbacks, Polymarket data suggests that Trump retains his lead, indicating that these minor disruptions are unlikely to sway his supporters.
